Playing, laughing, being loud, romping, doing nothing – and that in an exhibition house! From September 4, 2024, BAUBAU invites exactly that. In the play space for children designed by artist Kerstin Brätsch, more is allowed than forbidden. Colorful wallpapers, structures, objects, and a range of “Loose Parts” form spaces on the ground floor of the Gropius Bau that do not impose fixed guidelines but are determined by the activities of the children. They dictate the direction and form of what happens here. Thus, this place becomes a space of possibilities that can change day by day.

BAUBAU will launch in September 2024 in a prototype version and will continue to develop and grow over the coming years both inside and outside the Gropius Bau – in close exchange with the children and their wishes, as this is their place.

The Play
All children have the urge to play. This is how they learn to understand themselves and the world. Especially open, self-determined play is of great significance for emotional and social development. The educational concept for BAUBAU is therefore based on the principles of free play: Here, there is time, space, and permission for children to follow their own needs and interests. They are accompanied by playworkers – trained staff who create a safe and supportive environment where children can play freely.

The Art
BAUBAU playfully questions what a museum or an art institution should be. The comprehensive spatial design developed by Kerstin Brätsch is full of references and inspirations: elements from her previous works, such as marbling, paintings, or stucco marble work, reappear here in altered forms and materialities. The wallpapers, curtains, fabrics, seating furniture, and climbing structures are inhabited by dinosaurs, fantastical beings, termite mounds, and abstract elements. With their strange, funny, and perhaps a bit eerie shapes, they create an open framework for free play.

Kerstin Brätsch's practice is designed to allow and incorporate influences from outside. While she has previously collaborated with artists or artisans, she now does so in a completely different way with children: She invites the children to reshape and further develop the space according to their own ideas and visions, without the influence of the artist in unpredictable ways.

Everything has to be done by oneself! In her new program, Fee Badenius leaves nothing to chance and from now on makes herself a big deal! She remains as the audience has known and loved her for many years: witty, honest, ironic, and musical.

At the same time, she has a ton of new songs in her luggage. Emotional ballads, cheerful pop songs, quirky humor pieces, and as always: lyrics that entertain and touch. Fee Badenius sings and tells from the bottom of her heart about the feeling of inner emptiness, with grand words about little everyday things, and covers the entire spectrum of human life with a gentle voice and warm-hearted humor.

Thus, an evening arises somewhere between a singer-songwriter night and music cabaret, and yet it is above all else: An evening with Fee Badenius.

“She is a stunningly beautiful, absolutely sweet thing that you want to put in a display case to worship, she has a humor that replaces the poison of two black mambas, she is incredibly sharp – and most importantly, she wraps the audience around her finger to inspire envy. She has found a style somewhere in no man's land between satire, chanson, and wistfulness.”
(Stephan Sulke)
“Fee Badenius is probably the funniest and most poetic singer-songwriter in the whole world.”
(Tommy Finke)

The lower 10,000
The Grabowskis have already buried everything that obviously no longer lived all over the world. However, they are not only passionate gravediggers but also gifted singers and storytellers. And there is always something with dignity involved.
Despite their callous handling of the material and their quirky humor, the Grabowskis are lovable characters who entertain the audience with their witty macabre stories. In their evening concerts, which they hold at the places where they condescendingly send their clients to the ground at the stroke of noon, where they can better see the radishes from below, they showcase an unusual combination of vocal power, situational comedy, wordplay, and profound moments.
Jens Heckermann (known as "Pelvis" from the a cappella group Füenf), James Geier (part of the comedy trio Backblech), and Thomas Weber (founder of the KABIriNETT theater) form a unique ensemble together. They bring their years of stage experience and their diverse musical and humorous talents to the stage collectively. Jens Heckermann impresses with his commanding vocal power, James Geier with his musical skills and his unwavering pitch, and Thomas Weber with his sharp wit and falsetto singing voice. Together, they radiate warmth on stage and manage to captivate the audience and make them laugh.
An evening full of wordplay, dynamism, and depth with the Grabowskis. Raven black and laugh-out-loud funny, but also full of double meanings and morals or was it bottomless and hypocritical? Sausage! The three funniest gravediggers in the world offer a great comedy experience with their songs and stories about cheeky widows and cold bones.

Crispy. Juicy. Spicy.

In this workshop, it's about more than just Gyoza – we dive into the world of Chinese home cooking, as I, Mikiko Thiele, have come to love it during my 6 years in China.

Together, we will prepare delicious, hand-folded Gyoza – and the best part:

We will make our own chili oil (Láyóu)! We will use this fiery aroma directly in other authentic dishes.

"The Chain", named after the song of the same name by the band Fleetwood Mac, consists of six musicians who have set out to cover the timeless hits of the cult band Fleetwood Mac in their own way. Close to the original, but without becoming a copy, they offer a two and a half to three hour fireworks display with the biggest hits of the band, which has shaped almost five decades of music history. In late 2017, the two musicians Gerhard and Barbara Wiebe initiated the project and assembled a team that brings many decades of stage experience from both home and abroad and has toured with big names like Saga, Steppenwolf, Alice Cooper, Nazareth, and many others. After all these years, the songs of Fleetwood Mac have not lost their charm. Whether emotional ballads like Dreams and Sara or the driving classics Don’t Stop and Go Your Own Way - to name just a few - The Chain brings the unforgettable earworms back to life and travels to larger stages with two additional backing vocals. Don’t miss this feast for the senses! 1) Gerhard Wiebe - Guitar, Vocals 2) Barbara Wiebe - Vocals, Acoustic Guitar 3) Andreas Keppler - Vocals, Percussion 4) Armin Schöneberger - Bass 5) Chris Hinz - Keyboard 6) Michael Ernst – Drums

The permanent exhibition on the life and work of Erich Maria Remarque offers a detailed look into the life, work, and thoughts of the famous writer through numerous photographs, documents, and manuscripts. The exhibition is bilingual, presented in German and English throughout.

Divided into seven sections covering his youth in Osnabrück (1898–1921), the years in Hanover and Berlin (1922–1928), the discussion around All Quiet on the Western Front (1928–1930), his exile in Europe (1931–1939) and the USA (1939–1948), his political works in the 1950s, and the 1960s leading up to his death on September 25, 1970 in Locarno, the exhibition attempts to highlight the ruptures, contradictions, and controversies in Remarque's life while emphasizing their productivity for his work. It illustrates Remarque's numerous psychological conflicts, aiming to resolve the apparent contradiction between the "bon vivant" and the "militant pacifist," and provides insight into his acquaintances, friendships, and marriages. Numerous originals such as the death mask or Remarque's original desk complement the presentation.

Another focus of the exhibition is the worldwide, often highly controversial reception of Remarque's works, which have been translated into at least 60 languages and continue to attract a global audience of millions.

An information terminal allows visitors to delve deeper into specific questions about Remarque's life and work. Another terminal provides access to over 2,000 photographs spanning all stages of Remarque's life, his residences, contacts, and the film adaptations of his works.

The exhibition is open for free visits on Tuesdays to Fridays from 10 am to 1 pm and from 3 pm to 5 pm, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 am to 5 pm. Guided tours for school classes and other interest groups can also be arranged outside regular opening hours. Tours can be scheduled with Mr. Martin Siemsen (siemsen.m@osnabrueck.de) by phone at 0541/323-2109 or fax at 0541/323-4355.

A shop on-site offers materials related to Remarque's life and work for sale.

The castle with a lot to offer: "HerrschaftsZeiten! Erlebnis Cadolzburg" from June 24, 2017 at the Cadolzburg - the new highlight of the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region

A powerful castle - the setting of the illustrious history of a ruling family that has achieved great success: this was and is the Cadolzburg. The rulers were the Hohenzollern family, who ruled over Franken and later Brandenburg, also gaining electoral dignity in the 15th century. Later on, they even became Prussian kings and German emperors.

The Cadolzburg derives its radiance not only from its role as the starting point of a significant career in the Holy Roman Empire - the impressive structure itself reflects this golden era of the Hohenzollerns. The new museum "HerrschaftsZeiten! Erlebnis Cadolzburg" of the Bavarian Administration of State Castles will make this time - the late Middle Ages - exciting and informative for visitors through innovative communication concepts. While walking through the castle, visitors can learn not only about the architectural history, wars and peace, daily life, and governing tasks of the princely castle residents. There is much to discover here through interactive and sensory means:

Visitors can experience the castle through their sense of smell, there are tactile stations, sounds and dialogues, vivid models, and invitations to try things out. Exciting or challenging games, medieval Hohenzollerns in their own words, and the jester Contz who guides visitors through the castle bring the Middle Ages to life. Visitors can also expect to see several original medieval artifacts such as swords, maces, or a magnificent treasure chest. Other objects were specially crafted for the museum based on extensive research in historical techniques, such as the gilded armor of the famous General Albrecht Achilles, or textiles dyed according to original recipes. The Bavarian Administration of State Castles also made significant contributions to experimental historical research, like creating a breastplate from boiled leather, in line with the ambition of creating one of Germany's most important castle museums.

The cultural communication of the Bavarian Administration of State Castles also offers a diverse program of accompanying events, making this exciting history even more intriguing - for the young nobleman as well as the castle enthusiast.

Not only the Middle Ages but also the Cadolzburg itself now comes back to life. After the extensive damage of World War II, original medieval rooms and successful architectural creations of the 21st century can now be experienced. The modern buildings completed in 2017 bridge the medieval era with our present time.

You can expect very special experiences here - it truly is THE CASTLE WITH A LOT TO OFFER.

The program with the question mark

Lilo Wanders has always shown us with her legendary television show "True Love": Laughter and sex are the best prerequisites for lasting health and a long life. With her memoirs, she proves this point, but she also does not shy away from the painful spots.

Wanders takes us on a time journey through more than a handful of decades. With subtle humor and sometimes surprisingly down-to-earth, she shares her experiences, insights, and realizations about the most beautiful thing in the world - and the world itself from her perspective. With this evening, Lilo drops the mask and invites us to a travelogue about the journey from the shy boy Ernie Reinhardt to the dazzling personality of Wanders.

The Romantic era was a particularly brilliant period for portrait miniatures, reaching its peak and at the same time signaling the end of this special painting technique. Countless artists created portraits with great empathy and astonishing technical perfection. More people than ever collected small portraits of their loved ones to carry with them or to gather at home as a pictorial family album. 142 masterpieces from the renowned Tansey collection illuminate the heyday of an art that had to make way for photography during the 19th century.

Accompanying the exhibition is a catalog that, in addition to the annotated reproduction of all works, is distinguished by essays by various experts on aspects of miniature painting during this time. Hirmer Verlag, bilingual German/English, 432 pages, 208 color illustrations.

Your name has long stood for folk-pop music 4.0, for cross-genre pop-hardstyle blow with folk music instruments, for rapid, unique genre mash-ups - and above all for full, exploding dance floors.
The Fäaschtbänkler are sworn-in, thoroughly clever pop innovators and great hit makers with an unusual arsenal of instruments, mass entertainers with down-to-earth grounding, and real dance frenzy visionaries.

Celebrated live for years for their unmistakable "Blowpop," where brass and house music, pop and rock, and electronic music merge into an ultra-explosive amalgam, they are above all following their own path:
Hits like "Can you english please," "Partyplanet," or "Humpa Humpa" not only brought them View and Stream numbers in the hundreds of millions but also recent first platinum and gold awards.

From the tri-border region they are faster on every stage than some peace-seeker may like, Andreas Frei, Roman Wüthrich, Marco Graber, Michael Hutter, and Roman Pizio have conquered the album charts in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland with their last five albums.

The live history of the Fäaschtbänkler speaks for itself: Nova Rock in Austria, Open Air Gampel in Switzerland, the Taubertal Festival in Germany, headlining at Woodstock der Blasmusik, Burning Brass, and the BrassWiesn, Brass Palmas in Croatia, and so on. All events and concerts where the punk vibe cuts across and the musical activity plays out in many different directions. And that is the absolute strength of the Fäaschtbänkler. This boundlessness.

The acts that have already made songs with them also show the diversity, such as the DJ duo HBz or the rapper FiNCH. At the same time, the Fäaschtbänkler have been providing the trailer music for "Bauer sucht Frau" in Austria for several seasons.

The musical influences are diverse: Whether it's techno, ska, or pop, then again classical Oberkrainer sound or stadium rock with a grand-cinema choir. In so many songs, there are interruptions, sudden style changes. All wonderfully surprising. And all catchy tunes with lyrics that evoke feelings that you want to hear over and over again.

That's why people go to their concerts, love their songs, and can sing along to every single line by heart.

Rebel Monster is one of the first Volbeat tribute bands in Europe!
With well over 200 shows both domestically and internationally, it speaks for itself:
There is hardly a music fan who is not already familiar with VOLBEAT. Hardly any other band of the past decade has succeeded in creating such a unique and new style while also achieving commercial success. Furthermore, they prove at every event that they can bring together various groups of music-loving fans with their music. At live shows, you can see not only visitors of all ages, but also metal fans, rockabillies, bikers, and followers of various other genres sharing the space in front of the stage harmoniously. And that is what it should be about: The joy of music!
REBEL MONSTER has made it their mission to convey this very feeling to the audience. The authentic interpretation of the songs is an important aspect, but the main focuses are the stage performance and the joy of playing, which defines VOLBEAT and sets them apart from other bands. To this end, four musicians have come together here, all of whom have several years of experience on stage and in the studio and have played together in multiple bands. Key stations include EXC3ED, Teddybeers, Pilatus Pool, Bapow Hatz!, Black List, Red Circuit, and Breitner.

Patricia Prawit offers a true family program with her wordplay.
For children aged 5 and up.

ONKeL fISCH are the bearers of hope in the German satire landscape. And wherever they go, they bring hope with them. Their motto: You can always despair. It’s far too easy to complain about everything: climate change, war, prices, the AfD, Berlin, Donald Trump or Germany's current contribution to the Eurovision Song Contest.
In the constant bombardment of doomsayers and truth-tellers, many people already feel like they’re standing at the edge. Maybe, but the view is best from the edge. Primarily, most things are a matter of perspective. Whether the glass is half full or half empty doesn’t really matter. More important: We have something to drink!
The two movement fanatics spread hope wherever they can. And how they can: With fun, singing, dancing, and in German speed and slow motion. Modern cabaret that rolls between expectation and attitude.
Certainly, Heiner Müller once said: Optimism is just a lack of information. But one must add: So is pessimism!
ONKeL fISCH are on a hopeful satire mission throughout the country to strengthen mental defenses. And that is pretty funny!

A touch of those "good old times," when the British cult band Pink Floyd revolutionized rock music, fills the air at the Elevator Session taking place on October 31, 2026, at the Congress Center Ramstein. For over 16 years, The PINK FLOYD Project from St. Wendel in Saarland has captivated its audience with an authenticity and power that is unmatched.
Comparing the ensemble from the Saar-Lor-Lux region to the giants of the tribute scene from England or Australia is truly unnecessary. The PINK FLOYD Project particularly focuses on the breathtaking cinemascope sound of the British rock giants, which can be experienced firsthand during the Elevator Session that evening.
Voices like “...incredible, I thought it was them...” are not uncommon at concerts of The PINK FLOYD Project. More than 10 million clicks on YouTube impressively confirm this in the social media realm.
Thanks to the musical excellence of the band members and a crystal-clear, powerful sound, The PINK FLOYD Project takes listeners through the atmospheric, densely woven songs from "Shine on you crazy diamond" to "Hey you," achieving the strong emotional effects for which the original is still celebrated today.
Since 2003, the Saarland formation has fascinated audiences with its three-hour repertoire, reviving the success story of David Gilmour, Richard Wright, Nick Mason, and Roger Waters, as well as an individual light show adapted to the respective setting. The repertoire of the Project includes, in addition to the complete album "Dark Side of the Moon," numerous highlights from the other successful albums of Pink Floyd.
Even the less meditative, harder pieces from "The Wall," such as the student classic "Another Brick in the Wall - Part 1&2," serve as a counterpoint to the program.

Admission: 7:00 PM
