And this has been the case long before UNESCO declared it a cultural heritage in 2010. Flamenco originated in the streets of Andalusia. However, it has always been permeated and composed by a multitude of cultural influences. It unites both Arabic and Jewish or Christian elements. The culture of the Andalusian Gitanos is also anchored in it. As traditional as Flamenco is, it continuously evolves vibrantly.



The Antonio Andrade Quartet embodies Flamenco. Antonio Andrade was born in La Puebla de Cazalla near Seville. His uncle José Menese, a living legend of Flamenco, influenced him from an early age. Thus, he is one of the co-founders of the Teatro Flamenco Madrid, Teatro Flamenco Sevilla, and Teatro Flamenco Málaga, alongside Ursula Moreno, one of the most renowned artists in Málaga.



So who could better embody the pulsating essence of Flamenco than this quartet with its powerful vocals, virtuosic guitar sounds, and the rhythmically percussive dance that becomes an instrument in itself? This evening promises a gripping performance that will surely resonate long after.

What happens when magic, rock, and comedy come together? Entertainer Christopher Köhler provides answers with the new stage program of his successful show "Die Magier". New artists, new sensations: With "Die Magier 4.0", Köhler once again demonstrates how multifaceted magic can be: from shocking performances by the Bad Boy of the German magic scene himself – Christopher Köhler – to classical magic and entertaining stand-up comedy by Jens Wienand. These three are an explosive mix – and show how closely humor, astonishment, and thrill are intertwined!

CHOREOGRAPHY
Building on Petipa's choreography, the ensemble of the puppet opera under the direction of Munich choreographer Jutta Mähr developed a unique interpretation of the ballet classic. However, even though a puppet can seemingly master every physical challenge effortlessly, it was essential to make the effort visible. The illusion that the muscles strain to the utmost pain threshold, that the dancers truly sweat, and that they must constantly struggle for their balance was the main goal of this production.

STAGE STORY
"Swan Lake" is probably the most famous ballet of all time - all classical companies have it in their repertoire. Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky took half a year (August 1875 to April 1876) to complete his first ballet, which premiered on February 20, 1877, at the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow. The first Russian guest performance in the West took place in 1969 by the Kirov Ballet. Among the more recent interpretations, alongside the choreography of the star dancer Rudolf Nureyev, especially those by George Balanchine (New York 1951), Vladimir Bourmeister (Moscow 1956), John Cranko (Stuttgart 1963), John Neumeier (Hamburg 2002), and the all-male reinterpretation "Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake" (London 1995) became popular.

In his bestselling novel from 2005, Daniel Kehlmann tells the dual biography of two German geniuses: the explorer Alexander von Humboldt and the mathematician and astronomer Carl Friedrich Gauß. Although both work their entire lives to understand the world, they could not be more different: While Humboldt battles through jungles and steppes, tests poisons on himself, crawls into earth holes, climbs volcanoes, and encounters cannibals, Gauß never ventures beyond the rectangular area of Braunschweig/Göttingen - yet he penetrates into spheres where parallels meet in the infinite.

Old, famous, and now a bit eccentric, they meet in Berlin in 1828. With their gaze directed towards distant expanses, both overlook the signs of a new era – and this catapults them right into the political and revolutionary turmoil of the post-Napoleonic world.

With underlying humor, Kehlmann paints the picture of two significant men along with their desires and weaknesses - and imaginatively depicts their balancing act between ridicule and greatness, failure and success.

1971 in a village in southern Germany. As the only child of her parents, Roberta has no future other than to one day become the farmer's wife on the homestead. Here in the countryside, coming to terms with the past, refusing military service, feminism, pop culture, and miniskirts are not concerns. Here, work, obedience, and moral behavior count. But Roberta dreams of designing her own clothes, even though she knows all too well that this will remain a dream. At the same time, she loves her farm and the physical work in nature, where she feels at home. And then there's the pastor's son Wilhelm, her childhood friend. The two fall in love with each other. Wilhelm is not only the reason for Roberta to stay in the village. His mother Gertrud also stays because of her son. Unlike Roberta, she hates country life and wishes for nothing more than to leave, to go out into the world. Soon both women are forced to rethink their lives and make decisions that will change everything for them.
