"Hör meiner Stimme Schall" - A Musical Reading
Speaker: Ulrike Hübschmann & Pianist: Huijing Han
Robert Schumann is one of the most important composers of Romanticism – an artist of extraordinary expressiveness, whose life and work continue to resonate today. His music tells of longing, passion, and great innerness, but also of the deep emotional crises that accompanied him.
With "Hör meiner Stimme Schall," speaker Ulrike Hübschmann and pianist Huijing Han invite you to a special musical reading that brings the person behind the composer to life. From letters, diaries, and personal records emerges the multi-faceted portrait of an artist who initially wanted to become a writer, and whose literary voice was as impressive as his musical one.
The journey takes us from Schumann's early years through his great creative phases to the boundaries of his inner world. Words and music enter into an intense dialogue: While Ulrike Hübschmann makes Schumann's thoughts, longings, and doubts audible, Huijing Han opens a direct access to his emotional cosmos with his music.
A moving concert afternoon unfolds between sound and language – a meeting with Robert Schumann that goes far beyond the classical concert experience, bringing the person behind the genius to the forefront.
