Delfi.Magazin for new literature has a special relationship with the LCB: The very first event of the newly born magazine took place in 2023 at the summer festival in the local garden, LCB-affiliated authors are repeatedly represented, and now the in-house magazine Language in the Technical Age invites you to the launch of issue 7 again at Wannsee, as this time the lineup promises the ultimate LCB-Maxxing. Under the star of the theme SEVEN, we will hear texts from Aidan Riebensahm, Lily Farhadpour, and Yael Inokai, with whom we will discuss the magic, happiness, and pitfalls of writing.

Die Comedy-Wundertüte am Dienstag
In these crisis-ridden times, there’s only one solution: a hefty dose of comedy! Starting in February, the Trägerverein Charlottenstraße 31 invites you once a month to the new “Comedy-Wundertüte.” Three of the best comedians from all over Germany face the madness of everyday life - with punchlines that are sharp, absurd, or simply wonderfully silly!
Who will be performing? It won’t be revealed! The Comedy-Wundertüte remains what it promises – a colorful mix full of surprises. One thing is for sure: if laughter is the best medicine, these shows are prescription-only.
The evening will be hosted by Michael Genähr, the man with the charming grin and dry wit - basically the Switzerland of moderators: always neutral, but never boring. So: out of world pain, into enjoyment – every first Tuesday of the month, at the monthly comedy fireworks at the Obelisk Potsdam!

“She was so attractive! Many felt inevitably drawn to her, sometimes to their downfall, sometimes to their own liberation.”

They came out of curiosity, for the city was a promise. Some sought refuge here from the violence of patriarchal societies, as Berlin promised them freedom, the possibility of free self-design. Or did those who came create this promising Berlin?

In Amigues Adios by Bishop Black, five performers embark on a search for those who shaped queer Berlin over the years and turned it into a place for a life beyond the conservative boundaries of sexual identity and racial identity. For those who came then, Berlin was a kind of harbor. Here they could disembark, as rents were cheap and where one came from mattered less than the here and now. Walking along the pier, everyone could reinvent themselves, and no one knew what pain lay in the past. Here one could shed outdated roles and negotiate new forms of coexistence. There were resistances; precarity was part of freedom; some crumbled under violence and cold. But for a moment in history – so unexpected and unlikely given the German pasts – they made Berlin an open city.
But fear is increasing again. And so the protagonists of Amigues Adios bow before the Black queer Berliners who had the courage to make the city a promise back then. They honor them to find the strength to continue in this surreal and burlesque dance through the times. They celebrate to taste fearlessness and self-determination on their tongues again.

Amigues Adios is Bishop Black's fourth work at Ballhaus Naunynstraße after the solo performance Becoming My Body (2019), Re-Searching Joy (2022) as part of the akademie der autodidakten, and their directorial debut Flight of the Canaries (2023).

Millions of people worldwide now confide their deepest fears, hopes, and secrets to AI systems. They seek comfort, friendship, therapy, and sometimes even love. What begins as curiosity becomes surprisingly intense for many. Christoph Koch has spoken with researchers, founders, and users, visited nursing homes with social robots, and tested companion apps in personal trials. He discusses the stories of people for whom AI has become an emotional counterpart with author and director Isa Willinger and Johannes Kuhn, editor-in-chief at Tagesspiegel: What does this new closeness to machines reveal about our emotional needs and the future of human relationships? Nikolaus Röttger moderates the conversation.

Christoph Koch, born in 1974, is a journalist and non-fiction author. He regularly writes for media such as brand eins, Die Zeit, or the SZ-Magazin, often on topics of digitalization, social change, and psychology in everyday life. He has published several successful non-fiction books, including the SPIEGEL bestseller "Ich bin dann mal offline, ein Selbstversuch zum Leben ohne Internet." In other books—such as on the trend of self-optimization ("Die Vermessung meiner Welt") or a healthy relationship between humans and technology ("Digitale Balance")—he combines personal perspectives and captivating storytelling with journalistic research. Christoph Koch is married to a natural intelligence and lives in Berlin.

Isa Willinger is an author and documentary film director. She studied directing at the Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film München and before that North American Studies, Slavic Studies, and Sociology in Berlin, Moscow, Prague, and New York. Willinger's debut film Hi, AI. Love Stories from the Future (2019) was nominated for the German Film Award and has received many accolades, including the Max Ophüls Prize. Willinger's second feature documentary Plastic Fantastic addresses the link between plastic production and climate change, lobbying, and solutions for the plastic crisis. The film has received the German Documentary Film Prize and the German Marine Film Prize, among others. Isa Willinger is currently working on a documentary film about AI safety and the struggle for regulation. The working title is "The Red Line."

Johannes Kuhn is a journalist and editor-in-chief of Tagesspiegel Background Digitalization & AI. Previously, he was the capital city correspondent for Deutschlandfunk and worked for Süddeutsche Zeitung, among other things as a correspondent in San Francisco. He has been writing about digitalization for almost 20 years and also reflects on the internet in his spare time.

Nikolaus Röttger believes that our future follows the stories we tell one another. As a moderator, he leads conversations about change, coexistence, and optimism. As a journalist, he served as the editor-in-chief of WIRED Germany, covering the future, technology, and society. Today, he helps companies with his consulting firm FutureStory to sharpen their narrative in moments of growth, change, and crisis—creating clarity, cohesion, and agency.

In our latest production, we embrace the so-called "Berlin Operetta" with a wonderfully absurd, frivolous, and vividly colorful flair.
Paul Lincke's magnificent music, the extravagant costumes, and not least two fantastic performers, who are usually found on the grand operetta stages, guarantee a lot of fun.
Indeed, all lead and supporting roles, from Princess Rosine to the guests and inhabitants of an ominous land of plenty, and the members of the royal court, as well as the entire orchestra and the ballet corps are played and sung by two people: Stefanie Dietrich, known as Mizzi Meier and from our house production about Kurt Tucholsky, and Meik van Severen, who has also made a name for himself as a drag queen and whom you will experience for the first time on our stage!

Princess Rosine, premiered in Berlin in 1905, is a true musical gem that we are bringing back from oblivion and polishing to a shine once again. Thus, Paul Lincke's music returns to where it belongs: to the heart of the capital.

Why Europe can be decisive in the power game between China, the USA, and Russia.

The world has fallen into chaos, and China is a central factor in this shift: The rapid rise of the People's Republic to the second-largest economic power forces the USA, Russia, the European Union, and the Global South to redefine their roles in a possibly re-forming, multipolar world.

Renowned sinologist Susanne Weigelin-Schwiedrzik, political scientist Cathryn Clüver Ashbrook, and China expert Felix Lee from the Süddeutsche Zeitung discuss China's global power strategy in the tension of rivalry with the USA and Russia.

At the center is Europe. For Susanne Weigelin-Schwiedrzik's surprising finding is: The European Union is not a bystander in the geopolitical power game between China, Russia, and the USA, but an actor that could ultimately be decisive. A better understanding of China is essential to realistically assess Europe's room for maneuver in a changing world.

Susanne Weigelin-Schwiedrzik studied sinology, political science, Japanese studies, and the Chinese language in Bonn, Beijing, and Bochum. From 1989 to 2002, she was a university professor of Modern Sinology in Heidelberg, and from 2002 to 2020, a professor of sinology at the University of Vienna. As early as 1975, Weigelin-Schwiedrzik traveled to China, studied at the Faculty of Philosophy in Beijing, and personally experienced political milestones such as the end of the Cultural Revolution. Modern China is the focus of her research. Her decades-long engagement with the country makes her a leading expert in China studies; as a specialist in international relations involving China, she is a sought-after contact for the media.

Cathryn Clüver Ashbrook is a German-American political scientist and one of the most prominent transatlantic voices of today: frequently present on television (ARD, ZDF, CNN, BBC) and a sought-after commentator in renowned media such as the Financial Times, the New York Times, and the Washington Post. Her bestseller "The American Wake-Up Call" was published in the Brandstätter debate series "On Point."

Felix Lee studied sociology, economics, and politics and completed the Berlin School of Journalism. From 2003 to 2022, he was an economics and politics editor for taz, and from 2010 for nine years, the China correspondent in Beijing. He worked for Table Media before becoming an editor at Süddeutsche Zeitung Dossier. His book "China, My Father, and I" became a Spiegel bestseller and won the German Business Book Prize 2023.

What is fact and what is fake? According to "Bild", an AI was recently seen in the gym, training its algorithms. What is meant by "casual traffic"? Does it have to do with sex, or with taxis and rental cars? Questions upon questions that BELLA LIERE and ANDREAS ZIEGER pose in their new program of the Potsdam cabaret. And they come to the following realization: If fakes, half-truths, and political lies were to shine, the Earth would be brighter than the sun. Positively viewed, this would solve the energy problem! Come and think along, in the two-person shared apartment of Liere and Zieger, there is also a place free for you!

What may seem obvious is, in truth, a masterpiece: Every one of our movements arises from a complex interplay in the brain. In fractions of seconds, actions are planned, signals are transmitted, and muscles are precisely controlled – mostly without us noticing it.

The panel opens the view to this hidden dynamic and shows how movement becomes possible at all and why it works so astonishingly smoothly. At the same time, it becomes clear how sensitive this system is: Even small disturbances can cause movements to falter, occur uncontrollably, or no longer succeed as usual.

When the brain gets out of sync, it presents significant challenges for the daily lives of many affected individuals. Yet modern medicine is increasingly developing effective ways to respond – from proven therapies to innovative approaches that directly intervene in the control of movement.

A comprehensible yet fascinating insight into what moves us – and into the possibilities of regaining movement.

How can we argue meaningfully in a world full of destructive conflicts? With this central question in tow, the Hamburg performance group SKART, together with the Berlin dancer and choreographer Dasniya Sommer and the ensemble of Theater Thikwa, explores the constructive potential of dispute, bickering, and anger.

Armed with dance rituals, visually striking body art moments, and inspired by bondage and ballet, they celebrate the most diverse forms of intense interpersonal confrontations. While Brezel Göring and the Thikwa musicians soundly criticize all involved, the others are divided in their search for a productive culture of dispute.

That's all nonsense? Not at all. This is finely grated wordplay, roughly planed tomfoolery, cleverly placed punchlines, and bitingly sharp satire. Garnished with generally good spirits and intelligently elevated humor. Like that. Let no one say that the East Berlin Comedy Slam is silly. It's simply very funny. Like a Til Schweiger comedy, but with more facial expressions. Like an action comedy, but with less movement. Like... well, one can imagine it. Like a poetry slam, but with exclusively funny texts.

When Boney M. takes the stage with ABBA, the 70s are within reach! The party show takes the audience on a time travel to the most extravagant decade – the era of psychedelic wallpapers, Bonanza bikes, and captivating hits.

In the first part, the hits of ABBA such as "Waterloo," "Mamma Mia," "Fernando," and "Take a Chance On Me" are presented – by a group that not only looks similar to the Swedes but also matches their idols in singing. Following that, four top-notch artists showcase the hit group "Boney M." with a lively stage show. Hit songs like "Rivers of Babylon" and "Daddy Cool" guarantee a great atmosphere.

Josefine Fischrüb, who gives herself the stage name "Belladonna," wants to become an actress. Against her mother's wishes, she completes the distance learning program "Act at home," and instead of helping with household chores, she prefers to practice for her acting career. But Belladonna becomes stressed, as the distance learning program urges her to work on her femininity. She quickly discovers the extensive repertoire of roles, both on and off stage, that are required of a woman.
In a multifaceted transformation game, Belladonna tries to become a woman who, according to the fairy tale of Rumpelstiltskin, "can spin straw into gold"...
Comedy blends in this play with the depth that arises when facing the question

We learn valuable tips about foraging as well as the use of wild plants. Be curious about which overlooked "weed" reveals a completely different side.
