earned Humphrey Bogart several Oscars,
but became a worldwide success.
Tea versus gin! The spinster missionary
Rose Sayer finds herself amidst the chaos
of World War I in German East Africa aboard the "African Queen". With its captain,
the carefree Charlie Allnutt, and the
domesticated gorilla Humphrey, she travels
down the not-so-new barge along the
unexplored Ulanga River.
Reverend Sayer and his sister Rose cannot
fathom it: The looting by the
German soldiers does not spare their
mission station in faraway German East Africa.
The reverend's life's work shatters
with the outbreak of World War I,
and he dies on the spot. What is Rose, the
left behind, to do now? Join English
Commander Spicer? Spicer has overcome the
African continent with two disassembled speedboats
from Cape Town over land, and now he wants to
transport the boats over the Mitumba
mountains to defeat the Germans
on Lake Tanganyika. There,
the German gunboat "Louisa"
controls the lake.
Or can Rose perhaps rather
bring herself to safety with the barge "African Queen"
to Belgian Congo? Charlie Allnutt, who owns the
boat, thinks that is the better idea. And since the morale of English
soldiers might suffer under the presence
of a lady,
Rose decides for the "African
Queen". However, she also wants to
contribute to England's efforts,
which is why she persuades Charlie Allnutt to
commit to a dubious adventure: With the help of the "African
Queen," she wants to conquer the river, which
has so far been deemed impassable,
and torpedo the "Louisa."

Turning point – for my part. But where to and in which direction? Quo vadis traffic lights? Quo vadis heating costs? Quo vadis world?
We always thought that only the free market could save us. Today we know that we are not rowing in a lifeboat, but on the Titanic. And in front of us the iceberg... but if we're lucky, climate change is faster than us.
Everything was going so well: Germany was always on the sunny side of globalization! With low-cost airlines off to the south – in cheap fashion from the south. Energy for little money from the east. Evenings were spent having dinner at a Syrian restaurant and then out of curiosity watching the war on “ZDF History” or inflation on “Babylon Berlin”. And when our conscience sometimes bothered us, we sent our kids to “Fridays for Future,” went to the cabaret ourselves, and laughed cheerfully about our disastrous mistakes.

OVER! We are writing the year 2024.
A rapid journey through the topics of the times and their upheavals, zapping back and forth between electromobility, political correctness, and Tyrannosaurus Rex. And all of this against the backdrop of an unlawful pandemic and an unbeatable war – or vice versa.

Summer – sunshine – Italy – lots of music and
a dreamy comedy...

Alexander Claiborne, known as Sandy, receives
terrible news. His father died in a car accident
one day in May in Italy. Sandy sets off
together with his wife Diana on
the journey to the eternal city to recover
his father's mortal remains and
to sort out the formalities. But that turns
out to be a challenging task, as the
Southern European clocks and bureaucracies
tick in an unfamiliar way for Americans. Diana
gives up in exasperation after a week. Sandy
gets help from Baldo, a shrewd,
life-loving, and temperamental Italian,
who is interested not only in Sandy's organizational
problems but quickly also in Sandy as
a man.
However, Sandy is much more enchanted by
the pretty English actress Alison Ames. The
unfortunate coincidence brings the
two seekers together, as Alison's
mother was driving with Sandy's father when the
accident occurred. The shared search
for their deceased parents in the
distraction-filled city quickly becomes
interspersed with lighter moments under
the direction of the bon vivant Baldo, and
thus Sandy and Alison find themselves
swayed by the charm of the city and the
season to feelings of spring.

slow cashier at the supermarket,
about the federal government and about
the weather. When we get angry, when we
are furious, the glabellar wrinkle
between our eyebrows digs deep into our
skin. That’s why it’s called that: frown line.
And everyone can see it.
When we laugh, our
skin improves. With a smile on our faces, we
become more attractive to our fellow human beings.
The opposite sex feels drawn to us.
And laughing is healthy. The lungs
are trained, the brain gets an oxygen shower.

“Don’t get upset. It only creates wrinkles!” is the
new program by BERND STELTER. There’s
plenty to laugh about. In two hours,
wrinkles will be smoothed, skin texture improved,
and the corners of the mouth lifted.
It’s basically a two-hour beauty treatment
without Botox and pesky
plastic surgeons.
