The piece literally takes the audience on a tour through another world that has emerged from the violence against people and forest ecosystems. Who do we meet there? How long will this last? What is possible here? In this documentary project, cinematic and theatrical experiences merge and create frictions between the “theatrical here and now” and other temporalities: those of the biological life of the forests, plantations, local forestry, carbon cycles, and life in the soil.
“Roden” is a performance developed as part of the project Roden / Kukata Miti / Pembalakan. It follows Daniel Kötter's series of performances and 360° films "landscapes and bodies," which from 2018 to 2022 examined the impacts of extractivism on landscapes and communities in Indonesia, the DR Congo, and Germany.

Europe has been a laboratory and forerunner of electronic avant-garde music for over a century. Through an open call, the internationally operating label raster . media sought new, bold concepts and compositions. As part of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025, selected projects of the "raster . soundtrack europe 20—25" will be presented for the first time in HELLERAU on February 21, 2025, across multiple floors.
The line-up features exciting artists from the open call such as the Estonian singer and composer Maarja Nuut, Dresden-based electronic artist Alwin Weber, the audio-visual artist Camilla Pisani from Rome, and Hungarian musician Gábor Lázár, who will release his album REFLEX on raster . media in 2024.

In "Bullshit," the performers of She She Pop present themselves on an empty stage as sellers of reality, trapped in an endless loop of sale and offer. They desperately search for something to which they can ascribe value while simultaneously losing orientation and the shared reality. The central perspective that once helped them focus on goals is dissolved. They recognize the limitations of their perception and try to grasp new viewpoints and dimensions, even in the dark. Their challenge is to derive meaning from the chaos and find possible connections, or ultimately to process the bankruptcy of their efforts humorously.

The snow hare is terribly hot. As always at this time of year, he has changed his fur – from light summer brown to thick winter white. He does this to protect himself from the cold and predators. But this year it's somehow much too warm. The lizard and the song thrush are also puzzled. Is it really already winter? Why isn't it snowing then? The three animals decide to get to the bottom of the matter and set out to search for the lost snow. They encounter various weather conditions and together endure many adventures.

The inclusive dance piece takes the young audience on an atmospheric journey and tells from an animal's perspective about the consequences of climate change. It’s about friendship, courage, and not least, the beauty of being different.

Was geht, Erdling? (8+) - explore dance – Tanz für junges Publikum

Two travelers from space make a stop on Earth and have a mission: to find out what it means to be human. They have already gathered some facts: for example, that there are things like time and money. From cartoons, they have learned how humans move. But all the things they do seem strange; the way they speak sounds a bit wrong and the way they dress seems somehow funny. There are still some questions left open, and not just for the aliens. What’s up, Earthling? is a humorous, playful attempt by the two choreographers and dancers Caroline Beach and Saida Makhmudzade to engage with human habits.

In simple language:

Two travelers from outer space land on Earth. Their mission: to discover what it means to be a human. From cartoons, they have already learned how humans move. In 1976, Pierre Boulez, with the support of French Culture Minister Michel Guy, founded the Ensemble intercontemporain, which today is one of the most significant ensembles for contemporary music. The ensemble, based in the Philharmonie de Paris and funded by the French Ministry of Culture as well as the City of Paris, regularly performs new works and commissions compositions. The 31 soloists work closely with composers and develop projects that connect music with other art forms. In cooperation with the institute IRCAM, founded by Boulez, the ensemble is also active in synthetic sound production.

In the anniversary year 2025, to celebrate Boulez's 100th birthday, the ensemble will perform in the Paris Philharmonie and continue the celebrations with concerts in Tokyo. The next stop will be the Dresden Days of Contemporary Music, where solo works by Boulez will be performed, including the main work "Dialogue de l’ombre double" for clarinet.

The BOULEZ 100 anniversary concert in Dresden marks not only the ensemble's first guest performance there but also a renewed collaboration between IRCAM and the Dresden Days of Contemporary Music.
