Portrait Performance
Just stay composed.
Suspended between two places, two societies, two fields of force, connected with friends, languages, sounds, tenderness across half the globe ‒ on good days the I floats. On bad days, the burden of the situation and the coldness of the surrounding society are unbearable.
Just stay composed. Do not pose. Just stay composed.
TRVΛNIΛ is a poet and performer. Spoken word, poetry, singing, dance, performance, Creole, English, and German ‒ she moves effortlessly between artistic disciplines. Transitions seem to be her specialty, as well as the performative confrontation with the audience. TRVΛNIΛ uses everything to open the space to give meaning to well-being. Everyday struggles gain visibility and audibility here ‒ a necessity if we want to maintain our mental and physical health!

For the first time, TRVΛNIΛ performed at Ballhaus Naunynstraße during Permanent Disturbance ‒ international performance festival in autumn 2018 as a performer and dancer. For Bishop Black and his performance Becoming My Body, she was responsible for the music in May 2019; in September 2019, her work Inner Growth was showcased as part of the performance triptych An Object is an Object is What? She is also, together with Kondo Heller and Candice Nembhard, co-founder of Poet & Prophetess, an international and multidisciplinary collective that aims to redefine the boundaries of poetry by connecting it with theater, film, live sound, and radio.
With the PORTRÄT series, in which artists introduce themselves and their work, Ballhaus Naunynstraße interrupts the usual production method. Here, artists are not cast based on a role profile. PORTRÄT offers the space to show oneself, talents, one's own arts, and what truly matters. PORTRÄT is an invitation to the audience to encounter artists and experience the complexity of their art.
