Julian Lage is one of the most outstanding jazz guitarists of his generation. As the New Yorker writes, he belongs to the "highest category of improvising musicians" and has a perfect child prodigy biography. That aside, Julian Lage is so great because he manages to explore and work musically on the countless currents of American music history from jazz, pop, country, bluegrass, acoustic folk, and rock without giving frontal lessons. All this is based on excellent technique, free association, and improvisation. He sounds so authentic and unadulterated, as if he were playing a spontaneous concert just around the corner.

Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, he began performing publicly at the age of six and played with Carlos Santana two years later. A documentary film was even made about him called "Jules at Eight". He conducted his first jazz workshop at the age of 15 at Stanford University. The musician, who now lives in New York, can look back on a long career marked by collaborations with Gary Burton and John Zorn, as well as duo projects with Nels Cline, Chris Eldridge, and Fred Hersch.

In their “Wiener Weihnacht,” Cobario presents traditional as well as modern Christmas carols, newly interpreted and performed with great joy and virtuosity on two guitars and a violin. It sounds relaxed and contemplative, but also lively and cheerful when the trio mixes in their own compositions.
The CD "Wiener Weihnacht" includes 12 classic Christmas songs, which Cobario interprets in their own instrumental style, fresh and new. The listener is taken on a journey that holds many musical surprises: "O Tannenbaum" is found in the atmosphere of a Viennese Heuriger, while "Leise rieselt der Schnee" transforms into a jazz waltz of the 50s. If there was something like the decathlon of cabaret, Helge Thun would probably be an Olympic champion, if not even a district champion. As a magician, he has won more awards than he can count, as a poet, he became the German Team Champion in Poetry Slam, and in Theatersport, he learned the art of improvisation early on. With shows like Reim gewinnt, der Comedy Stube, and Tauschrausch, he created three successful formats. For 20 years, he was the head of one of the most original comedy duos with Helge and das Udo. TV formats, radio columns, books, and various other stage programs like Der Schöne und das Biest with Heiner Kondschak or Funny Magic with Topas are not even included in that list.

And all of this just to come straight in a zigzag to the zenith on crooked paths! New rhymes, new tricks, and new comedy. The London Classic Rock band will once again tour the German-speaking area at the beginning of 2025. After the "Live Dates" Tour in 2024, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the album of the same name, "The Ash" are dedicating the 2025 tour to the motto "The Wish List Tour."

Behind the tour motto is the idea that WISHBONE ASH fans themselves can contribute to the setlist. Some rarely heard songs, requested by fans through a social media survey conducted by the band, will be played during the concert evenings. WISHBONE ASH will bring a mix of their classics, rare song treasures, and newer songs from the recent past to the stage.

Formed in 1969 in London during the bubbling birth hours of the Progressive Rock scene, WISHBONE ASH took advantage of the fertile musical environment, creating a distinctive brand of melodic rock sound and becoming one of the most influential guitar bands in rock history. Energy and melody have made "The ASH" an act that is hard to surpass, currently being discovered by a new generation of loyal rock fans. Over the years, the band has experimented with various musical genres, from folk, blues, and jazz to pedal-to-the-metal rock and electronica. Regardless of the style, WISHBONE ASH's unmistakable hallmark is the interplay of two lead guitars, influencing bands like Thin Lizzy, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Iron Maiden, and Opeth. Their album "Argus" made music history.

As true road warriors, the band covers around 30,000 miles annually - equivalent to about one lap around the Earth - earning them global recognition and lasting popularity. Founding member and lead singer Andy Powell, joined by Mark Abrahams on the Twin Lead Guitars, Bassist Bob Skeat, a band member for 25 years, sets the rhythm with Joe Crabtree, one of the best British drummers of the younger generation.

In early 2020, "Coat of Arms" was released to mark the band's 50th founding anniversary on the Steamhammer/SPV label, followed by a successful anniversary tour. With a continued spirit of musical experimentation, WISHBONE ASH confidently bring their trademark sound into the present. Their 25th album, "Coat of Arms," entered the German album charts at number 22 - the band's best chart position to date in this country. Daniel Benyamin:
His name, at least his many musical projects and collaborations, is well known in the indie world, for example through bands like SEA+AIR, Jumbo Jet, Toiling Midgets, or his work with Sufjan Stevens, Patrick Watson, or The Divine Comedy – just to name a few. In addition, Daniel Benyamin has composed works for theater, dance, and film soundtracks from arte to "Tatort." Later he took a fresh start as a solo artist.
He calls his music "Ghost Pop," which emerges from a upbringing between Bach cantatas and a secret obsession with American wave bands, from the fragility of ambient, energetic rhythms, atmospheric melodies, plastic synth sounds, dark lo-fi folk, and the songwriting of the seventies and eighties. “Singer-songwriter or jazz vocalist? Who still asks that today, especially when musicians like Claudia Vorbach successfully break down all barrier fences between the genres,” writes the magazine “Jazz Thing” (Reinhard Köchl 2019). In her third album, the Tübingen musician sings passionately, occasionally plays the western guitar, shares emotional worlds, tells stories, or philosophizes from darkness to light.
The predecessor album received international critical acclaim. She was compared to Madeleine Peyroux and Norah Jones, while her great individuality was also noted: “Germany's answer to Madeleine Peyroux. Genuinely quirky and unique.” (US Magazine All About Jazz, 2019).
She is fortunate to have found a fantastic band, consisting of three not-so-unknown jazz musicians from the southern German jazz scene: Martin Sörös on piano, Axel Kühn on double bass, and Felix Schrack on drums navigate effortlessly and creatively through her music of jazz, folk, and blues in the third album.

Fascinating, ethereal, and majestic, Mammal Hands (saxophonist Jordan Smart, pianist Nick Smart, and drummer Rob Turner) has created a refreshingly original sound from a rich source of inspirations: drawing from spiritual jazz, as well as North Indian, folk, and classical music, they craft something unmistakable, something of their own.

Hailing from Norwich, one of the most isolated and easternmost cities in the UK, they have found their own path away from the musical mainstream, developing their unique sound during long improvised rehearsals.

All three members equally contribute to the writing process: a process that prefers to foster group dynamics over the lone wolf. Their records are charming and beautiful stories, while their hypnotic live shows have made them one of the most exciting bands in Europe thanks to their unique lineup. Their third album Shadow Work – which is also their first self-produced album – was released in 2017, followed by Captured Spirits in 2020.

Their fifth studio album Gift from the Trees was released in March 2023. GFTT offers a new perspective on the trio's unique music. The band had the opportunity to work late into the night to create a deeper and more organic experience. This approach benefits both their writing process and their trance-like live performances. While part of the music was pre-composed and even performed live, improvisations also played an important role in the recording this time.

The Doors Alive have played over 1,000 shows to date and were founded in 2005. Since then, there have been some changes, but the current lineup is the best it has ever been! The Doors Alive have earned a respectful audience in several countries worldwide, including the UK, Ireland, Australia, Denmark, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Poland, Slovenia, Malta, Greece, Turkey, Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates, and Chile, to name just a few. They repeatedly sell out some of the most established venues in Europe and have played at the legendary Isle of Wight Festival. Among others, with legendary musicians like Status Quo, Canned Heat, Nazareth, Uriah Heep, Manfred Mann's Earth Band, Eric Burdon, and Kris Kristofferson. In Chile, the band played an arena show in front of 4,500 Doors fans! In several countries, including France and Lebanon, the band has been featured on national television.

The pop musician, pianist, and co-founder of the A-Cappella comedy legend “FÜENF” under his pseudonym “Justice” is now treading the solo paths that mean the world. Accompanying himself on the piano, he presents brand new songs about craftsmen, balcony plants, funeral speeches, and spinning machines, alternating with Füenf hits like “Umdrehn brinx nix”, “Bring mir die Sonne”, and long-unheard audience highlights, all of which are composed by him and freshly arranged. When Heinrich Del Core tells his everyday stories in his red shoes, one wants to exclaim: "Stop it! That can't possibly have happened, he must have just made it up!" But all these events, which we can laugh at so incredulously and heartily, he has experienced himself. Heinrich Del Core is a magnet that attracts quirky everyday situations, which he then presents to us with his uniquely witty charm.

And now the time has come: Heinrich is going to be a grandpa. Or to put it differently: his wife is going to be a grandma!

The new situation turns everything upside down. Overnight, Del Core's world is different. He buys a stroller that costs as much as a moped used to and today a Thermomix. He downloads baby apps for his wife and bakes cake for family coffee catch-ups. Then there's also a wedding, environmentally conscious and vegan. But true joy is hard to come by when one is supposed to throw unpeeled whole grain rice at the couple.

But with grandparents, many problems disappear into thin air. Take the bedroom, for example: how often has restful sleep been disrupted by his wife's cold feet, the never-ending battle over the duvet, or because the man competes with a leaf blower in volume and air pressure? When the grandchild comes to visit on the weekend, Heinrich simply has to move out.

Of course, this affects his self-esteem. And doesn’t "grandpa" sound totally old as well? Actually, he feels younger - except in the morning when getting up. Sometimes the joints make noises. But his wife keeps boosting his confidence: "Heinrich, you are really fit." In fact, she seems to cope with the new situation much better. She says: "Being a grandma is like being a mom - only nicer." She has never thought about getting older. Once, she left a note for the kids: "We are at the cemetery," and Heinrich wrote underneath: "But we will come back."

Yet despite all the changes in his life, this program is a typical Heinrich Del Core evening, because he himself says: "My wife is becoming a grandma, but I'm staying the same."

La Palma, the westernmost of the Canary Islands, is a charmingly beautiful small paradise with eternal spring and panoramic sea views almost everywhere. A place where the human soul is naturally closer to higher states and very special inspirations than anywhere else. Since his first visit in the nineties, Götz Widmann dreamed of producing an album here in a 300-year-old Canarian house converted into a studio. A dream that has finally come true. Four musicians, a producer, and a film crew experienced an idyllic month full of harmony, good ideas, and collective moments of happiness. And you can absolutely hear that in the album. One musical highlight follows another, pure diversity of ideas, and never before have Götz Widmann's songs sounded so fresh and lively. The sound of Christoph Beyerlein is warm, inventive, and transparent; multi-instrumentalist Matthias Keul is bursting with joy in every song, while the rhythm section with Steff Bollack and Dirk Kunz grooves weightlessly and is extraordinarily danceable for a singer-songwriter album. With Blütenduft, Götz Widmann remains remarkably true to his lyrics while musically elevating to a completely new level.

When the two founding members of Grobschnitt, "Lupo" (lead guitar) and "Willi Wildschwein" (singer and guitarist), along with Willi's son "Nuki" (guitar, vocals, percussion), announced via video message on April 1st, 2019, that they were finally returning to German stages, it was a long-awaited dream come true for the still large fan base of the legendary band from Hagen.

The desire to do something that had never been done in the band's long history was the driving force behind the "Grobschnitt Acoustic Party" project for the three musicians. The Grobschnitt song classics are performed live with completely new, acoustic arrangements and without much fanfare. For almost two years, the musicians prepared the acoustic project in secret, without even Grobschnitt insiders knowing about it.

The "Grobschnitt Acoustic Party" is a 3-hour emotional journey through the band's 53-year music history, featuring many well-known song classics from albums released between 1972 and 1989. It is presented and celebrated in a close-knit, familial atmosphere. This includes compositions that the band has never or rarely performed live. The program also features the two long tracks "Solar Music" and "Rockpommel's Land" in 30-minute acoustic versions, which are well-known staples of any Grobschnitt performance. The focus of the Grobschnitt Acoustic Party event is solely on the music!

"Listening to these super old 'tunes' in a new guise is simply beautiful, an unforgettable experience," say Grobschnitt fans after the first concerts. Standing ovations followed the cult opener "Vater Schmidt's Wandertag". It was not only the song classics that captivated the enthusiastic audience, but also the typical Grobschnitt humor, which was repeatedly shared between the pieces in the form of anecdotes by the musicians. The three musicians themselves were more than impressed by the suspenseful atmosphere and, after the concert, mingled with their numerous fans for autographs and selfies.

To the delight of Grobschnitt enthusiasts, a purely acoustic studio album featuring song classics of the band was released in May 2022, debuting at number 25 on the German Album Charts. Titled simply "GROBSCHNITT ACOUSTIC ALBUM", the work contains 14 tracks and is a tribute to the band's 50th anniversary. It is also a homage to the loyal fan base, now spanning three generations, whose motto "No Day Without Grobschnitt" has always been and remains a cult favorite.

Henrik Freischlader is still considered a hidden gem for all those who have never heard of him.
The German guitarist and singer has shared stages with B.B. King, Gary Moore, Peter Green, Johnny Winter, Joe Bonamassa, and the Tedeschi Trucks Band, and after numerous tours across Europe, he has become indispensable in the international blues scene.

His virtuosic and passionate guitar playing, his rough distinctive voice, and a sense for good grooves have shaped his unmistakable style over the years.
Since 2006, the multi-instrumentalist has released 11 studio albums and 7 live albums, and there is almost always a new album in the works on his label Cable Car Records.

Together with his tight-knit band, he will be touring again in 2025. KEEP PLAYING is the motto under which each concert becomes a unique and special experience, as every evening is different – there will be improvisation, free jamming, and the setlist is regularly expanded.

New Model Army released their 16th studio album "Unbroken" on January 26, 2024, which will be presented in 2025 along with a major tour through Europe, the UK, and South America.
The band began writing the album in 2021 against the backdrop of everything happening in a rapidly changing world and in their own lives. Early on, they decided that their first choice for mixing the new album would be the legendary "Tchad Blake".
Now, after completion: "Not much hits me so real these days. New Model Army hits it for me."
Wonderfully recorded and produced by the band themselves, mixing this album felt like a gift. Full of guitars, cutting vocals, and with an emphasis on bass and drums that characterize their entire work, Unbroken sounds very much like New Model Army, yet still different.
Formed in Bradford in 1980, New Model Army is storming through their fifth decade and shows no signs of slackening. Just recently in September 2023, they released their fantastic live double album "Sinfonia" – a unique performance recorded with the Sinfonia Leipzig Orchestra at the Tempodrom in Berlin.
