Topas-Thomas Fröschle - Magie & Comedy
This man is a world star. London, Paris, Monte Carlo, New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Beijing, Yokohama – wherever TOPAS appears, it becomes magical. After all, Thomas Fröschle alias TOPAS is one of the most internationally successful German magicians of all time.
TOPAS is one of the most internationally successful German illusionists. He has been crowned World Champion of Illusions not once but twice and won the Golden Magic Wand from Monaco. For 30 years, he has been a shining act and a member of the Top Ten Club of the best magicians in the world. The audience has come to know TOPAS as the perfect illusionist who makes entire busloads disappear. However, in his home country, he also performs under his civil name THOMAS FRÖSCHLE as a wordy entertainer, especially on television, where he enhances his presence as a comedian. Instead of relying on black magic, he cleverly employs dark humor. Sharp-tongued, quick-witted, and never short of a punchline, DER FRÖSCHLE has his audience firmly in his grip as a comedian. He won the largest German comedy and cabaret competition, the 8th Hamburg Comedy Prize.
Whether as a magician or a comedian – experts and audiences agree that the cosmopolitan is also a first-class entertainer in terms of craftsmanship. Like all great magicians, TOPAS is a perfectionist who takes his work very seriously. But the winking lightness with which he presents himself has nothing to do with the mystical tricks of black art or the much high-tech-masked swirling Abracadabra that one knows well from some magicians. TOPAS always presents his art with the disarming nonchalance of a stand-up comedian. Conversely, he performs on the cabaret stage with the technical virtuosity and surprise effects of a comedy magician.
At home and on his extensive travels around the globe, TOPAS constantly develops new magic tricks, writes routines for his comedy programs, and hones the details of his performance. He performs around 200 shows a year. In Las Vegas, Paris, and Beijing, in Hamburg, Düsseldorf, and Stuttgart. Any hobbies? “Yes – magic.”
