Die brasilianische Musik ist von großer Vielfalt geprägt und gilt von jeher als besonders offen für äußere Einflüsse. Charakteristisch ist die Verbindung traditioneller und moderner Elemente.

“Bonita” (die Schöne) - das romantischste Album des Jahres - ist eine Mischung aus Stilen, Klängen und Farben Brasiliens. Dieses vielseitige und originelle Projekt zielt darauf ab, die brasilianische Musik und den Jazz zusammenzubringen. Nice Brazil, brasilianischer Herkunft, ist der Initiator dieses Projekts, das jazzige Arrangements bei Bossa-Nova und Sambas präsentiert. Samt anderer facettenreicher Gefühle wie den Klängen der großen Städte Sao Paulo, Rio und Belo Horizonte;Bonita ist eine Erfahrung, die man sich nicht entgehen lassen sollte.

Die Interpretin und Komponistin Nice Brazil stammt aus Sao Paulo und versteht es wie kaum eine andere, eingängige Songs des Bossa Nova, weltbekannte Jazz- und Latinstücke bis hin zur Samba und zur Musica Popular Brasileira ebenso leidenschaftlich wie virtuos zu interpretieren. Freilich: Nice Brazil gehört zur neuen Garde der europäischen Vertreterinnen brasilianischer Musik. Geboren und aufgewachsen in Brasilien, lebt sie seit Beginn der 1990er Jahre in Deutschland und wirkte erfolgreich an verschiedenen Projekten und Festivals mit. Gemeinsam mit Ihrem Band präsentiert sie leichtfüßig swingenden Kompositionen - auch eigene Kompositionen - mit einer ganz besonderen Note. Ihre überaus geschulte Stimme vermag dabei zwischen den Extremen hin und her zu tänzeln: Temperamentvoll oder leise, beinahe meditativ, an der Grenze zum Hauchen, zur Stille, aber dennoch in jeder Note präsent. Nice Brazil intoniert nichts anderes als die Seele brasilianischer Musik. ...

“Die Passion zur Musik begann für mich bereits in meiner Kindheit in Sao Paulo, meiner Heimatstadt. Mit der Musik von Radio und Musik-Festivals. Mit der Protestbewegung gegen die Militärdiktatur, mit der Rebellion und der Poesie präsent in Chico Buarque‘s, Geraldo Vandré‘s, Joao Bosco’s Kompositionen. Mit der MPB (brasilianische Popular Musik), und der Bossa Nova. Mit den großen Interpreten der brasilianischen-, der Jazz- und der Popmusik. Später durch die Erfahrungen in der Schauspielerei in Theater und Kinder Musicals wurde mein Wunsch verstärkt, diese kreative Arbeit mit meinem ganzen Sein auch durch den stimmlichen Ausdruck zu vertiefen. Ein großes Verlangen nach sehr unterschiedlichen Musikrichtungen erwuchs in mir und ist bis heute allgegenwärtig.

Es ist für mich ein wahres Glück durch die Musik mich ausdrücken zu können und diese Liebe zur Musik nicht nur mit meinen Musikern sondern auch mit Dir, Fan der brasilianischen Musik, teilen zu dürfen....“

“Bonita” (the beautiful) - the most romantic album of the year - is a mix of styles, sounds, and colors of Brazil. This versatile and original project aims to bring Brazilian music and jazz together. Nice Brazil, of Brazilian origin, is the initiator of this project, which presents jazzy arrangements of Bossa Nova and Sambas. Along with other multifaceted emotions like the sounds of the major cities Sao Paulo, Rio, and Belo Horizonte; Bonita is an experience not to be missed.

The interpreter and composer Nice Brazil comes from Sao Paulo and knows like few others how to interpret catchy Bossa Nova songs, world-famous jazz and Latin pieces, as well as Samba and Musica Popular Brasileira with equal passion and virtuosity. Indeed: Nice Brazil belongs to the new generation of European representatives of Brazilian music. Born and raised in Brazil, she has lived in Germany since the early 1990s and has been actively involved in various projects and festivals. Together with her band, she presents light-footed swinging compositions - also her own compositions - with a very special touch. Her extremely trained voice can dance between the extremes: spirited or quiet, almost meditative, on the edge of whispering, silence, yet present in every note.
