Kabarett-Theater DISTEL - Wer hat an der Welt gedreht - Kabarett ohne rosarote Brille
In the new program, we ask ourselves: where is the journey going? Everything cannot continue as it has for the upcoming challenges of our world! With the collapse of socialism, it was clear to us that only market economy could be our salvation. Today, we realize that back then we didn't board a lifeboat, but the Titanic. Everything seemed to be going so well: Germany was always on the sunny side of globalization! Flying cheaply to the south in cheap fashion from the south. Energy for little coal from the east. In the evenings, dinner at the Syrian restaurant followed by watching war out of curiosity on "ZDF History" or inflation on "Babylon Berlin". And if our conscience ever bothered us, we sent our kids to Fridays for Future, went to the cabaret ourselves, and laughed cheerfully at our fatal mistakes. OVER! It is the year 2022. Now, more than half of Germans would rather live in the past. In the past, we always preferred the future. Times change. The only solution is to deal with the present, perhaps by casually reminiscing about the "good old days" and taking a look into the future. And where does that happen? Before, at the pub or family gatherings, now in digital blogs. Or at a cabaret rehearsal. The setting for "Who Turned the World Around" was quickly found: first day of rehearsal, a new "cabaret show" to be rehearsed by our DISTEL ensemble. The script is on the table and now off we go! But how to approach the hot topics? Energy crisis, ongoing pandemic, globalization, no, "de-globalization" of all these topics? And what does satire have to offer today? New insights? Redemption? Distraction? Enlightenment? The ensemble is not in agreement. On the contrary. Not only is there controversial discussion, but scenes are set, playfulness is brought to life, and illustrated. Some aspects are logical, some even mainstream; other positions are unexpectedly refreshingly odd or breathtakingly surreal, but above all, they are very, very humorous. With the new program "Who Turned the World Around?", DISTEL presents the long-awaited successor to "Scandal in the Spree District", the great audience success of recent years. Once again, the audience can expect a rapid journey through the topics of the time and their distortions, flicking back and forth between electromobility, political correctness, and the Tyrannosaurus Rex. All this against the backdrop of an illegal disease and an invincible war, or vice versa. And by the way, what about climate change? The author duo Robert Schmiedel and Frank Voigtmann have been successfully writing for various cabarets in the country since 2005, including individual pieces for DISTEL. In 2015, they were commissioned with the script for "Once Germany for All" and in 2019 for "Scandal in the Spree District". As in the previous program, Frank Voigtmann not only directs but also acts on stage. He is joined by DISTEL veteran Stefan Martin Müller and Nancy Spiller, who has been seen in two DISTEL programs and is now a member of the permanent DISTEL ensemble. Musically and lyrically accompanying them are Felix Lauschus and Fred Symann.
