Kabarett-Theater DISTEL - Wer hat an der Welt gedreht - Kabarett ohne rosarote Brille
In the new program, we ask ourselves: where is the journey going? Things cannot continue as they are for the upcoming challenges of our world! With the collapse of socialism, it was clear to us that only the market economy could be our savior. Today, we realize that back then we didn't board a lifeboat but the Titanic. It all seemed to be going so well: Germany was always on the sunny side of globalization! Cheap flights to the south in cheap fashion from the south. Energy for little coal from the east. In the evening, first eat at the Syrian restaurant and then out of curiosity watch war on "ZDF History" or inflation on "Babylon Berlin." And if our conscience bothered us, we sent our kids to "Fridays for Future," went to the cabaret ourselves, and laughed good-naturedly at our disastrous mistakes. OVER! It is the year 2022. Now, more than half of Germans would prefer to live in the past. In the past, we always preferred the future. Times change. There is only one thing that helps: getting to grips with the present, maybe by comfortably reminiscing about the "good old days" and taking a risk to look towards the future. And where does this happen? The old pub or family gatherings before, now in digital blogs. Or during a cabaret rehearsal. The setting for "Who has turned the world upside down" was quickly found: the first day of rehearsal, a new "cabaret show" is to be rehearsed by our DISTEL ensemble. The script is on the table, and here we go! But how to approach the hot topics? Energy crisis, ongoing pandemic, globalization, or the lack of it? And what does satire still have to offer today? New insights? Redemption? Distraction? Enlightenment? The ensemble does not agree on this. On the contrary. Not only is there controversial discussion, but there is also setting of scenes, lively acting, and visualization. Some aspects are logical, some even fit the mainstream; other positions are unexpectedly refreshingly quirky or breathtakingly bizarre, but above all, they are all very, very funny. With the new program "Who has turned the world upside down?" Distel presents the long-awaited successor to "Scandal in the Spree District," the major audience success of recent years. Once again, the audience can expect a rapid journey through the themes of the time and their upheavals, jumping back and forth between electromobility, political correctness, and the Tyrannosaurus Rex. And all this against the backdrop of an illegal disease and an invincible war, or vice versa. And by the way, what about climate change? The author duo Robert Schmiedel and Frank Voigtmann have been writing successfully for various cabarets in the country since 2005, including individual numbers for the DISTEL. In 2015, they were commissioned with the script for "Once Germany for All" and in 2019 for "Scandal in the Spree District." Like in the previous program, Frank Voigtmann not only directs but also performs as an actor on stage. He is joined by the Distel veteran Stefan Martin Müller and Nancy Spiller, who has appeared in two DISTEL programs and recently became part of the permanent DISTEL ensemble. The three are accompanied musically and verbally by Felix Lauschus and Fred Symann.
