Cat Ballou – 25 Jahre – Jubiläumstour 2024
Five Cologne guys. One band. An unbelievable success.
The story of CAT BALLOU began in 1999, when four music enthusiasts decided outside the gates of Cologne to make music together. From day one, passion and authenticity have been the focus, and with a certain amount of persistence, the band has managed to not only win the hearts of tens of thousands of Rhinelanders, but also to be celebrated in concerts throughout Germany and neighboring countries 25 years later.
The band's home base remains Cologne, where the success story gained momentum in 2010 during Carnival. CAT BALLOU was an important part of the so-called "young wild ones," who with their modern interpretation of Cologne music, ensured that suddenly even young target groups celebrated music in dialect, and festival performances like at Parookaville are more the rule than the exception today.
Modern pop with an international influence, often in Cologne dialect - this mix is what makes CAT BALLOU successful. The final breakthrough came in the 2012/2013 session with the songs "ET JITT KEI WOOD" and "HÜCK STEIHT DE WELT STILL," which are still must-haves at every concert. Numerous hits followed, including "LIEBE DEINE STADT," in which besides singer colleague Mo-Torres, Cologne's football idol Lukas Podolski was also allowed to take part.
The love for music has successfully carried the band through the pandemic, the unexpectedly gained time was put to good use. In addition to the idea of a charity campaign by the Cologne Carnival, which raised over a million euros under the title "#NIT ALLEIN, songs like "OH WIE SCHÖN," "ALLES BUNT," or "LASS UNS NICHT GEHEN'N" were created, which musically appear even more mature and modern and have also attracted a lot of attention nationwide, such as the performance at the Hamburg Harbor Anniversary 2023.
CAT BALLOU starts the anniversary year 2024 with two new titles: "PARADIES" is the Cologne carnival song, while the High German "GUTE ZEIT" is somewhat of the soundtrack to the band's birthday. One is retrospective, as the first 25 years of the band's history were a damn good time. The other with an eye to the future, as the next 25 years should naturally be a really good time.
The path is already paved for this, in 2024 there are already numerous highlights starting from January, including of course the anniversary concerts at the LANXESS arena in Cologne on October 4th and 5th, a new album, an anniversary tour through Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands, as well as many more surprises for the loyal fans of the band.
