DIETER alias THE COCK
GUITAR & VOCALS
RETROSPECTIVE 1950 TO 1980
SCHLAGER, SCHMALTZY BALLADS
…AND SOME FAVORITE ROCK &
POP CLASSICS
Off we go into the colorful 50s, 60s, and 70s! Experience three exciting decades. The program presents itself as colorful as a platter of appetizers: cooking with Vico Torriani, pony rides with Winnetou, gangster chases with Edgar Wallace, an excursion with umbrella, charm, and melon to London, the current sports studio with Wim Thoelke, the remarkable landing on the moon, and the legendary ZDF Hit Parade with fast-talker Dieter-Thomas Heck.
But not only on television do the Germans catch a whiff of the big, wide world. Neckermann makes it possible, and the white giant actively lends a hand to housewives. Klementine fiddles with washing machines and Tilly smooths out every wrinkle with Palmolive dishwashing liquid…
Teenagers only dream of the Beatles, dance the Twist until their knees crack, and seek advice and help from Bravo. The parents continue to work diligently on the economic miracle. On these stones, you can build...
And what remains of the West German upswing is neatly packed as a parcel into the East Zone.
Switch on the time machine with us and travel from the plain early 50s to the Flower Power and Twiggy, the bourgeois shock in a mini skirt!
And as always, "Dieter alias The Cock" captures the vibe of the era with a wink and a good dose of irony.
Do you remember? The whole world was sensual, colorful, and heartwarming, full of petticoats, kidney tables, and lamp bags, as well as home movies featuring roaring stags. One invoked the economic miracle in the first own
VW Beetle and danced the economic cha-cha. Young girls dreamed in the milk bar of "Sugar Baby" Peter Kraus, and the tough teens in studded pants dreamed of the portable radio and motorcycle. Bill Ramsey advertised "Souvenirs" on the new television or invited the "Sugar Doll from the Belly Dance Group" on holiday to Bella Italia. Yes, yes - "Tschau Tschau Bambina"!
You remember, don't you?
And you think that all this is gone and irretrievable...?
Of course not, thanks to “Dieter alias The Cock”!
Back then we created the economic miracle and dreamed of the south. Today we fly to the south and dream of the economic miracle. The first holiday trips to sunny Italy, the first BMW Isetta, the first television, cellar parties with cheese hedgehogs and crackers, or alternatively a “Toast Hawaii” from TV cook Clemens Wilmenrod! All of this garnished with the wonderful Schlager treasures of that time.
Oh, you beautiful German Schlager bliss!
The music chest opens, and the beautiful, peaceful world of German Schlager resonates. Experience a fast-paced, turbulent journey through three exciting decades! The 50s, 60s, and 70s had quite a lot going on: enlightenment with Oswald Kolle, riding high with Winnetou and Old Shatterhand, the Ariel Clementine and other clean men, Robert Lembke's “What Am I?”.
Germany's 50s to 70s viewed through colorful glasses!
…and all of this will be seasoned with a small, but
fine selection of Anglo-American rock and
pop classics of that time!
