Franz Kafka, who was born in Prague in 1883, was only known to insiders during his lifetime. Only after his death in 1924 in a hospital in Vienna did his fame in the international literary world grow immensely. No German-speaking writer of the modern era is as widely regarded worldwide as Franz Kafka, in the USA as well as in China. No one else has become such an icon.

The Cosmos Factory Theater production dedicates a homage to this magician of language, whose 100th anniversary of death falls on June 3rd. The actors Judith Mann and Oliver Peuker will read from the unfinished novel "America" and bring to life a contemporary of Kafka in the Prague of the early 20th century meeting with the great author, whose work, despite all its abysses, always contains cheerful, comedic, and grotesque moments.
